Melbourne gets that Winning Feeling
Last night the Victorian Tourism Industry came together to celebrate all the good things about our amazing industry at the RACV Victorian Tourism Awards. There were a number of highlights including Ken Hore winning recognition for his outstanding contribution to tourism; and of course the inaugural Destination Melbourne After Dark Party, where people were able to kick off their heels until the early hours of the morning.
Destination Melbourne supports the awards because they encourage people to work on their business. There was an all time record field of 34 entries from Melbourne this year. While it was great to see many Melbourne based businesses feature as winners and finalists, what really rocks our socks is the level of engagement and participation. It is fantastic that so many businesses in Melbourne are now taking the Awards seriously.
The RACV Victorian Tourism Awards represent the spirit of co-operative competition. People come together from far and wide to celebrate the best the industry has to offer. We enter them to win, victory represents a vindication of our dreams and aspirations, but at the end of the night we are all part of one very big family.
